WP 6 – Networking and dissemination activities

The objectives of this work package are:
  • To disseminate the findings of the project to stakeholders in several different ways and to use the dissemination activities as far as possible to encourage comments on the project’s deliverables by stakeholders.
  • To create a network of experts that contribute regularly to the project and act as multiplicators of the findings

Description of work

Task 6.1 – Dissemination activities

The PRESCIENT partners aim to disseminate results of their research throughout the complete duration of the project and beyond and to a broad audience.
We will disseminate the results of our research to key stakeholders including, for example, representatives from national ethics committees, the Article 29 Data Protection Working Party, the European Data Protection Supervisor, national data protection authorities, members of the European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST) action on Living in a Surveillance Society, academia, industry, standards organisations, civil society organisations, etc.
As far as possible we will use our dissemination activities as a way of encouraging stakeholder comments on our deliverables.

As each deliverable is completed, we will e-mail out a “press release” or notice of the deliverable’s availability to our contact list.

An important on-going activity will be the preparation of articles to be submitted by the partners to peer-reviewed journals and other media. Making presentations at conferences, especially those that publish their proceedings, can be a useful way of disseminating project results as well. VUB leads the team that organises the Conference on Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP). During the PRESCIENT project, VUB will host a session on PRESCIENT, composed of representatives of the PRESCIENT team, external experts and EC officials. This session will provide an important opportunity to further disseminate the results of our research to a relevant public, and to obtain feedback on PRESCIENT activities.

Task 6.2 – Liaison with other projects and activities

We will take into account the research undertaken in other projects and studies of relevance to PRESCIENT activities. We will include relevant persons in our contact list. We establish contact with and interview other experts where we wish to have more information, which may be of use in our own research. Contacting these other people is also useful too as a way of making known the results of our research.
